The Glass Meadow

Where the meadow enters the house and the house enters the meadow.

About the Project

Set in a flat meadow at the edge of a Cotswold village, this house was conceived as a single-storey pavilion that dissolves the boundary between inside and out. Full-height glazing on three elevations frames the changing seasons like a series of living paintings. The fourth wall — solid, load-bearing limestone — anchors the building to the ground and provides thermal mass against the Gloucestershire winters.
