The Retreat at Ashford

About the Project

The Retreat at Ashford occupies a former walled kitchen garden on a Kent estate. The brief was to create a small wellness retreat that felt rooted in the landscape rather than imported from a spa catalogue. Bathhouses, treatment rooms, and a restaurant are arranged around the original walled garden, with new structures built in the same Kentish ragstone as the existing walls. The outdoor soaking pools are fed by a natural spring on the estate.
